Abbreviated Admission Requirements
Submit official transcripts (transcripts must be sent directly to Clark Atlanta University's Office of Admissions from each college/university attended; transcripts cannot be issued to the student even if marked "official" and sealed)
Earn a bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited institution
Earn a minimum GPA of 2.6 in most recent degree program completed
Earn a combined score of at least 650 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE (for more information on the GRE test, contact ETS at www.ets.org or at 866.473.4373)
Submit resume
Submit statement of intent* (1-2 pages describing your interest in the program and your goals; S tatement of Intent may be the heading for the document. Remember to include your name. )
Submit 3 letters of recommendation (preferably 2 from your current or past professors and 1 from an employer on their letterhead or stationery)
Complete graduate admissions packet (you may apply online ( http://admissions.cau.edu/ ) or call the Office of Admissions at 404.880.6605 for a paper application; supplemental documents must be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions)

Describe the highlights of your professional experience with an emphasis on the leadership opportunities that
you have had.
Describe your leadership aspirations and why you are interested in becoming an educational leader.
Describe the role of the educational leader in affecting change in urban schools.
Describe your interest in attending Clark Atlanta University and becoming a student of the Department of Educational Leadership.

Once the Office of Admissions has a COMPLETE application and ALL supporting documents, the application will be forwarded to the Department of Educational Leadership. Please allow 4 weeks for processing. Please remember that the 4-week time frame begins after the Office of Admissions has a COMPLETE application and ALL supporting documents.
Full-time study for graduate students is defined as registration or completion of no less than 9 credit hours (fall and spring semester) and 6 credit hours (summer session); most classes are 3 credit hours.
