Abbreviated Admission Requirements
Submit official transcripts (transcripts must be sent directly to Clark Atlanta University's Office of Admissions from each college/university attended; transcripts cannot be issued to the student even if marked "official" and sealed)
Earn a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Earn a minimum GPA of 2.5 in most recent degree program completed
Satisfy the Praxis I test requirement* (exemptions are listed at the bottom of this page)
Submit resume
Submit statement of intent (1-2 pages describing your interest in the program and your goals; Statement of Intent may be the heading for the document. Remember to include your name.)
Submit 2 letters of recommendation (preferably 1 from your current or past professors and 1 from an employer on their letterhead or stationery)
Complete graduate admissions packet (you may apply online ( http://admissions.cau.edu/ ) or call the Office of Admissions at 404.880.6605 for a paper application; supplemental documents must be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions)
* Students who have received the following minimum combined test scores or who have a T-4 (or higher) certificate from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) are exempt from taking the Praxis I test:
SAT: 1,000 (The combined score is obtained by adding the verbal and the math scores.)
ACT: 43 (The combined score is obtained by adding the English and math scores.)
GRE: 1,030 (The combined score is obtained by adding the verbal and quantitative scores.)
(For the purpose of exemption from Praxis/GACE tests, the scores above do not have an expiration date.)

Once the Office of Admissions has a COMPLETE application and ALL supporting documents, the application will be forwarded to the Department of Curriculum. Please allow 4 weeks for processing. Please remember that the 4-week time frame begins after the Office of Admissions has a COMPLETE application and ALL supporting documents.
Full-time study for graduate students is defined as registration or completion of no less than 9 credit hours (fall and spring semester) and 6 credit hours (summer session); most classes are 3 credit hours.
