Transcripts must be sent directly from each college/university attended to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
Transcripts issued to the student are not considered official, even if marked official and sealed.

Praxis I/GACE

The Praxis test series is administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS). For more information,
visit www.ets.org /praxis or call (800) 772-9476. The Praxis I test must be taken by September 1, 2006. After that date,
Georgia will switch to the GACE test administered by National Evaluation Systems, Inc. (NES). For more information, visit www.gace.nesinc.com or call (866) 565-4849.

Students who have received the following minimum combined test scores or who have a T-4 (or higher) certificate from the
Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) are exempt from taking the Praxis I test:

SAT: 1,000 (The combined score is obtained by adding the verbal and the math scores.)

ACT: 43 (The combined score is obtained by adding the English and math scores.)

GRE: 1,030 (The combined score is obtained by adding the verbal and quantitative scores.)

(For the purpose of exemption from Praxis/GACE tests, the scores above do not have an expiration date.)

Statement of Intent

The Statement of Intent should be one to two pages and should describe your interest in the program to which you are
applying and your goals. S tatement of Intent may be the heading for the document. Remember to include your name.
(The Department of Educational Leadership has a 4-point guide for the Statement of Intent on each program's information page.)

Resume

Include an updated resume with current contact information.

Letters of Recommendation

We do not use a standard recommendation form. Letters of recommendation should be written on letterhead or stationery
when applicable. They do not have to be addressed to anyone.

All graduate degree programs require three letters of recommendation. Two of those three recommendation letters
should be from a professor, the other from an employer. At least one of the two required recommendation letters for the
postbaccalaureate programs should be from a professor, the other from an employer.

Minimum GRE Score

Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS). For more information,
visit www.ets.org /gre or call (866) 473-4373. Minimum GRE scores may be obtained by adding the scores from the
verbal and quantitative sections. Though we consider the score from the essay, it is not factored into the minimum
score that is obtained by adding the verbal and quantitative scores.

*Only GRE scores taken within 5 years of the application date will be considered.
